AN ORIGINAL PHOTOGRAPH OF SOMETHING BEAUTIFUL

This image was taken at the British Museum in November 2007. The central quadrangle was redeveloped in 2000 to become the Queen Elizabeth II Great Court. The court has a tessellated glass roof covering the reading room in the centre. This image show the blending of the old and the new architecture with beautiful emphasise on the ceiling in Grand Court. The light casts shadows on to the reading room giving the illusion that the ceiling pattern extends to the support structure. The picture is crisp and well lit as it was a particular fine day in London.
